Portrait & Conceptual Photography

Welcome to CyberStern.com, my photography home. The illustration above was shot during the early weeks of December 2009. It contains seven individual photographs composited together. Sixteen hours went into photography and post-production. The Seasonal section of my portfolio houses the rest of this series.

I enjoy the challenge of professional photography and all that that entails, I love telling stories with photography and for years I have also been consulting with a variety of industry related companies and continue to find new clients in unexpected places.

Teaching allows me to be in the service of others.  This career began at Los Angeles Trade Tech and then on to Art Center College of Design. Glendale Community College, Burbank Unified School District, Brooks Institute and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising round out the mix. I have written  lesson plans for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and since 2004 have presented at many of their professional development conferences.

My book has begun shipping from Amazon and Barnes and Noble...

Here is a quote from a reader:

"Michael Stern has been a seasoned professional photographer for over 30-years. His meticulous concern for creating an image translates far back beyond the digital tools of today.  He brings his expertise to the forefront demanding that a photograph be perfect in every way. Mr. Stern is a perfectionist and anyone who wants to make great pictures should read his book and see how an expert approaches the new visual language." - Laurence Gartel, Digital Media Pioneer
